I enjoyed it throughout but there are certain things within the book that brought the rating down such has the handling of disability could’ve been better and at the end there is an underaged scene that happens and it was like really Stephen King? Really? That was not needed and just demeans the book as a whole in my eyes. Personally I do not think books need to use losing virginity as a symbol of transition between childhood and adulthood. Especially when the teenager is still underaged. Especially when it comes across as performative to deliver a thank you. I find that gross.
