Hellcat is hands down one of the best books I’ve read this year. I had the privilege of both beta and ARC reading it, and let me tell you it nearly killed me having to hold back my screaming about this masterpiece.
This book turned yearning and aching into an art form, every moment between Shem and Gabe felt like poetry painted in shadows. Alex writing in this book is pure poetry. Dark, haunting, and beautifully layered, it feels like it was crafted to be read in the glow of candlelight during spooky season. Every page thrums with atmosphere you’re not just reading this story, you’re living it.
Shem completely stole my heart in Deathtrap, and Hellcat only deepened that obsession. His chaos, his humor, his jagged edges, all of it carved a place in me I won’t be shaking off anytime soon (Not like I won't too). And Gabe… let’s just say this man is the steady flame to Shem’s wildfire, and watching them together is nothing short of magic.
This book made me ache, laugh, rage, and hope. It’s dark, it’s twisted, it’s healing, and it’s everything I want from paranormal romance. Alex doesn’t just write characters she gives you living, breathing beings who stay with you long after the last page.
If you’re looking for something beautifully brutal, witchy, and unforgettable to kick off or add to your spooky season, Hellcat is it.
