Saint Peter's Fair by Ellis Peters

4.0

I bought basically the entire Cadfael series when they went on sale on Christmas day, so I ought to get around to reading the ones I haven't yet.

Next up: The Sanctuary Sparrnow, Followed by Dead Man's Ransom and The Pilgrim of Hate. Why am I skipping The Leper of St Giles and the Devil's Novice? I already read/listened to them, that is why. I'll probably re-read at some point

This book was, again quite close to the TV adaptation, except the depiction of the female protaganist is more sympathetic. Also Aline. We were robbed of Aline Berenger nee Siward in the TV series. Hugh's wife is amazing, but we get her only in the books and this is wrong.

I think the central theme of this was not judging by appearances, and although it probably wasn't Peter's best book, it was worth reading. Recommended for all Medival Fiction and mystery fans.
