Another perfect book by the absolutely incredible Alyssa Cole. From plot twist to sexy bits, complex parent-child relationships, to original and captivating cultures, fabulous secondary characters, intriguing plot bait, and clever cross-series tie-ins to a romance that swings from breathtakingly swoony to as intimate and soft as a whisper, this book delivers.
The audio narration, too, was fabulous. My literal only critiques are as follows:
•it felt like maybe the Ibaranian accent as a whole took a bit for the narrator to nail down - fair, since it’s a make believe kingdom in the Mediterranean founded by a formerly enslaved woman who went on to be a pirate queen and assemble a multicultural court. So.
•I am so upset that this *stunning* cover with these *smoking* models didn’t include my sexy babe Bez’s glasses!!
