All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir
5.0
My favorite YA book so far this year, ALL MY RAGE, put me through a rollercoaster of emotions and left me with a raging book hangover.
This book follows 3 narrators across two continents and generations: Misbah, a young Pakistani woman who enters an arranged marriage and moves to the U.S. after tragedy strikes; and Salahudin and Noor, two Pakistani United Statesian teenagers and former BFFs struggling to survive in Juniper, California.
I don’t have the words to explain how much I loved this book (honestly, my brain’s just not working optimally this month) 😩, but I will say that it was lyrical, layered, fast-paced, and poignant (check out the passages in the carousel). It gorgeously bears witness to trauma, while touching on themes like self-discovery, faith, found family, and internalized oppression.
