Small Gods
by Terry Pratchett
Brutha's faith is strong, even when he is confronted with his god in the shape of an one-eyed tortoise. With his trademark humor, Pratchett takes Brutha on a journey from a caretaker of melons to a prophet for millions. This was the first Discworld book I ever read and, while it is different from most of the others, I still re-read it every year. Something about Brutha just tugs at my heartstrings, as well as tickling my funny bone.--Rebekka
