Doctor Faustus by John E. Woods, Thomas Mann

Not sure what I just read? Except it left me with a general feeling of unease that not even Bob's Burgers could assuage. I loved the first three or so chapters, which have this surreal, nostalgic fairy-tale style, but the rest of the book was hard to swallow, especially the experimental chapter where Adrian Leverkuhn actually deals with a devil. The book was weird and the only parts I truly enjoyed were the beginning and the side plots about Ines Istitorum. I don't know why I liked her so much.
