I enjoy historical fiction. I also like reading about strong empowered women. I found exploring the relationship from Lorena Hickock's view point intriguing. (Given the time frame and Eleanor Roosevelt's status, I doubt you will ever get a true take on her inner life.) As has been noted, this is novel. It's a version of what might have happened. I think I would have preferred it more if it were a memoir, but I liked the exploration. I found it very contemplative. Not my favorite read, but enjoyable enough.
Moderate: Sexual content
