Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter
4.0

3.5 stars

Born At Midnight was definitely a cute read. And what wouldn't make it cute? There was romance and smart remarks bouncing off practically every page.

Having said that, Born At Midnight failed to deliver action-plot wise. At least I thought so. The main drama revolved around Kylie's self indenity discovery and her developing relationships between Derek and Lucas (FYI, Lucas all the way). And as you can see, despite the fact that I felt like there was hardly any real plot, I enjoyed Born At Midnight.

If Hunter's made me decide I like one person over another then she's got me convinced to read the next book. If Hunter hints at developing plot then I guess she's got me convinced to read the next book. And if Lucas turns up (like he's supposed to) then I'm sure as hell going to read the next book.

I guess there are those novels that are meant for a light read all about boys, boys, plot, and then some extra boys on top. 3.5 star ratings doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I did. But I take the main aspects into account when I review--plot, characters, writing and extra stuff I think is important to mention. Born At Midnight failed in plot, but it definitely surpassed in characters and steamy romance.
