The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

I am glad I am finally getting to read this book, I grew up seeing the movies around me, although never truly sat down and watched them. I think one aspect truly helped me with this book, was to view it not as a book, but as a story. In this way I was not waiting for the next big event to start, the next adventure, merely enjoying the tale as it wound its way through middle earth. I still don't understand so much world-building can be conveyed through so few words, I know stories that are 10 times this length, and that can barely scratch the surface of what Tolkien was able to do. I am excited to continue this adventure in the next book.
