I am a bit torn rating this book.
On the one hand this was way too long, like way too long. But on the other hand I really enjoyed the characters, the romance and especially the last 5%.
But... the book just felt so long. This could have been at least 100 pages shorter.

The FMCs power sounds so intriguing but the use of it was lackluster. On the one hand she uses it in the first chapter for some drunken sailor and then constantly refuses to use it when needed. I don't understand what her plan was. She is ordered to get information to be free but she doesn't do anything to get the information to be free. But talks like soon its over, but no, if you dont do your job its not over.
I am not sure if I want to continue the series. Book 2 is again nearly 500 pages long.
