Amity and Prosperity: One Family and the Fracturing of America by Eliza Griswold
4.0
First off- I really enjoyed this book. It was well researched and well written. I was disappointed in the author for making the confederate and KKK aspects of the culture items that were thoroughly glossed over as a romantic part of the Southern rebellious nature. While it was an item that didn’t need to be a focus of the book- it thoroughly detracted from the reading and I was upset that someone who was able to turn a critical eye on big industry couldn’t look with the same sharp eye at some outdated stereotypes.
