The amount of times "Demon Turds" is used in this book is downright detrimental to this story. Knocked it two stars down. I'm confused as to what audience she thinks would find that funny?
Besides the glaring pile of crap.. Elizabeth Lim always writes an incredible world and entwines a compelling story along with it. I enjoyed the small glimpses you get from other story lines and the turtles were another bright point in this book for me. I think she writes soft female main characters better than sassy Tru. The only thing I like about Tru was her love of peppers.. THAT I can understand.
A very fast read but I still much prefer Six Crimson Cranes to this one.
