A Dom is Forever
by Lexi Blake
I loved this book!
So, I fell in love with Liam at first sight. Literally, I fell for him when he was first introduced to us in the previous book of this series. I'm sure I'm not alone in that aspect, but I felt like some of his wittiness and sparkling personality was a little bit subdued in this installment. I could be reading too much into things, but I felt like he was more subdued. Or maybe he was always a subdued person and was only appearing that way in front of his colleagues.
I liked the fact that Liam's attraction to Avery was so authentic. I actually liked the fact that his interest was piqued outside of the whole BDSM thing. Most books develop that romantic connection and attraction after their interest in BDSM is revealed, but that's not the way this book went. It was different, and that contributed to my overall enjoyment of this one.
Basically, Liam follows the elusive and mysterious Mr. Black to London. That's the only reason he even decided to touch base with Avery in the first place. I did have a problem with the fact that he was only using her, initially, to further his agenda. Avery's self-esteem issues were prevalent enough that he wouldn't have embarked on his mission that way.
I did like the appearance of Adam and Jake in this installment as lovers. Adam & Jake's installment was my favorite in this series, so that's always good. It was thoroughly enjoyable to see Adam committing to his role as the fashion forward, gay friend. Avery was so clueless and oblivious that she didn't figure him/them out until well on in the story. She even questioned his sexuality to herself, time and time again. I guess Adam allowed his new wife to distract him from playing his role as convincingly as possible.
The twist in this one was unexpected, that's for sure. I never would have thought It was crazy! I guess that's what made this so good, because he was the last person I would have expected , especially in that role.
All in all, it measured up to the other books in the series. It exceeded my expectations and that's always good.
