ciaradonnachaidh 's review for:
Outlander
by Diana Gabaldon
August 2022: I began 2022 with yet another enormous reread of the series, yes, but it feels right to pick it up again now. In 3-4 days' time I will be in England (a place of which I've dreamed and studied the history/mythology of since I was a wee lass - a passion for which Anne Boleyn and Boudicca are largely responsible) and in 15 (or so) days' time, I will finally, finally be in Scotland. The seat of my adoptive-paternal heritage and which, in the end, I chose (for this trip) over Ireland - another passionate dream and the home my birth-maternal ancestry - because of my love for Outlander.
So, for love of it, I'll take it with me. What could be more perfect?
2021: The Great Outlander Reread, round five. Or six. I've lost count. But I just finished Bees and I'm not ready to leave Jamie and Claire or the eighteenth century yet so I might as well reread the whole series again.
2014: Life-changing. To think I was first told by a friend to read this book back in 2000, and I only got around to it in 2014! I'm continuing straight on to the next book.
