Return to the Isle of the Lost
by Melissa de la Cruz
As far as a descendant story goes, it was good. It wasn't as well paced or rich in content as the first book was. I kinda feel at this point she's just churning them out to keep up with demand while everyone waits for a new movie too come out. The dialogue was a bit jerky, and bland. The characters didn't feel like the characters I watch on screen. Evie almost seems insecure and silly. Jay is unemotional and cold. Carlos is a quivering mess, and Mal is almost a bitch in this book, I didn't like her but I love her in the movies.
I don't know. They need to be less rushed, and keep with the theme of the characters we see on screen.
