dbotica 's review for:
Mrs. Everything
by Jennifer Weiner
This book was extremely powerful and covered so many important topics such as same sex relationships in the 60-90's, sexual assault and abuse, family disfunction, losing a parent, and divorce. It was the first book I've read by Jennifer Weiner and was a lovely story that chronicled the struggles of two sisters, Jo and Bethie, and how their lives and their upbringing affected them throughout their entire lives. It was really interesting to see how each event appeared to have an exact reaction and everything was pretty cut and dry when it came to reading, which I appreciate. It did take me a little longer than usual to get through than other books, but I would say it's worth the read and puts things into perspective, especially when you've never had to deal with these issues being a millennial where life is easier than the generations before us.
