It's fine! My biggest gripe is that although I really felt pulled into thinking "okay, this narrator/the writer get what this particular feeling feels like," (very difficult to achieve, btw), it ends on some sort of sappy "Everybody Can Be Happy, Actually" note that just did not ring so true for me. I think it would have been more interesting had the character realized that meaning is anything that keeps you from doing the thing she tried to do (a la Viktor Frankl). It doesn't have to be this huge majestic thing, it can be quite boring -- and it can change, from day to day. I did grab a few really insightful and fun quotes from this, but I'd hesitate to recommend it to a friend who's felt these things (iykyk).
