The Marrow Thieves
by Cherie Dimaline
The premise of the book is extremely with the times even though it’s set in a futuristic world.
While fiction, you can’t help but correlate these fictional events with what happens today and what has happened in the past.
While I do enjoy plot driven books, I personally prefer strong character arcs and need to be invested in the characters. I just was not invested in any of the characters.
It was a good read, but I just wanted more emotion, more connection. I wanted to feel the fear or disparate these characters felt. I wanted to be immersed in the world, but felt like I was just peaking in as an outsider.
