melvankomen 's review for:
March
by Geraldine Brooks
I found the exploration of Mr. March's interior life very poignant and insightful. I'm sure devotees of Little Women find this version maddening and maybe even sacrilegious, but I thought it was an interesting thought experiment about the evolution of character through difficult times and the sacrifices required in marriage. And Ms. Brooks writing is beautiful.
