the pacing was stop and go and i got stuck on some parts but the world is very interesting. i didn't always know what was going on but the author mentions his intentions with that in the beginning of the book. i really enjoyed some characters (gam is my favorite i think) but nathan fell short as an MC. i am hoping book 2 has more character work.
