What a fascinating and peculiar collection of short stories! Part fairy tale, part "stories from my backyard", each was distinctive and memorable and haunting. The illustrations are brilliant - fully encompassing the story and part of the entire experience of reading it. Is this for children? Hard to say, but it was certainly for me.
