City of Lies
by Sam Hawke
Fast paced, fun, with solid worldbuilding, interesting exploration of family structures. There are always innate problems with writing well intentioned characters of privileged positions and I appreciate Hawke acknowledged this and challenged some of the tropes. I also appreciate the disability rep (one protagonist has OCD or similar, another an unspecified chronic illness) and while I can quibble with a couple of aspects of this, there were many others I really liked. A solid, enjoyable read: and not one that will take as long as the size of the book would suggest.
