Ten years ago Angel, Olivia and Grace were captives in the ‘Dollhouse’ made to be real life ‘dolls’. They were fortunate to get out with their lives while others were not (including Angel’s brother Bud).
Angel lives fairly well off the grid training psychological service dogs for those that need them. Olivia is a successful author and talk-show host who is married with a child. Peter Baden (Olivia’s dad) who has more money than God has set up a private “club” called Komorebi for the survivors of long-term captivity and their families as a safe haven to speak to those that have suffered similar fates.
Komo (as it is lovingly called) has many members and ‘family’ members who pour their heart and soul into helping those who need it most but now the unthinkable is happening - survivors are turning up dead seemingly by means of suicide. Not everything is as it seems though and there are secrets everywhere - Who will be Next??
I’ll admit I didn’t love the sound of the synopsis and thought perhaps this would be a hit and a miss for me. I WAS WRONG …. This was potentially the best one yet. I am not a neat and tidy tie it in a bow kind of ending person but everything that happened in this story happened for a reason and it happened in the right sequence.
