Crossroads
by Devney Perry
It just wasn’t giving what I needed, honestly. This is the second book I’ve read from this author, and I’ve realised what’s missing—there’s no yearning, no tension, no slow build-up to the romance. No brush of the hands, no stolen glances… just suddenly they’re together and that’s it. It felt a bit flat emotionally.
I did think the plot was interesting. I liked the ranch setting and the whole fixing-it-up storyline, plus the back-and-forth timelines were a nice touch. It was cool seeing the relationship between West and Indya develop that way.
The flashbacks were probably my favourite part—15-year-old Indya’s emotions felt super real and relatable. That part was done really well. But overall, it just didn’t hit the way I wanted it to. Not terrible, just not a favourite.
