Forking Around by Erin Nicholas
5.0

Forking Around, another amazing book by Erin Nicholas, book two in her Hot Cakes series, is a “can’t put down” story, and a take on the Cinderella fairy tale. We have the sexy hot, creative, generous and princely Dax, who is so charming a fairy godmother couldn’t compete. Jane is juggling more plates than one would think possible. Between her father’s illness, her wicked-ish stepmother, her little sister’s teenage drama, and the co-workers who depend on her, another mess just might tip her over the edge. Dax has learned that you can be successful while really enjoying life and having fun. He has been able to charm everyone he’s met, at least until he meets Jane. She takes Dax seriously and believes they have nothing in common. The challenge for Dax is on; he will prove he can charm her. These two are more alike than they realize. They both want to make others happy and they truly care about others. Jane, a forklift operator at Hot Cakes, amazing, daughter, role-model sister, tolerant step-daughter, best friend to Zoe & Josie, and lover of all strawberry sweets needs some fun, distractions, and an assistant in her life. Dax is there to provide it all. He is the missing puzzle piece to her picture of life. Now, if only Dax can convince Jane to let him be that assistant.

Ms. Nicholas outdid herself by writing an amazing, sexy story with a charming hero and an overloaded heroine, with terrific best friends, that is definitely not to be missed. Plus I learned a number of new uses for desserts during foreplay. This is a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, sassy and charming characters, giving Jane and Dax a forever love. I highly recommend Forking Around to other readers and can’t wait for the next book in this series.
