Elevation by Stephen King

This was my first Stephen King novel (we don't talk about that time I read the first chapter of Salem and couldn't sleep well for two weeks). And I loved it! Apart from being a soothing yet energetic narrator (read this as an audiobook), he deserves to be one of the most famous writers of our time. My favorite writers all have an effortless, instantly engaging style, but also know how to take their time to build the world and the characters in it. Although I'm not one who craves likable characters all the time, I do love me some flawed personas who grow with the story. This had all that and much more - and that in very short time. Can't wait to read more, as long as it's not too scary - scary movies: YAY, scary books *nay*.
By the way I also loved the short story Laurie, which was included in the audiobook.
