Because She Loves Me by Mark Edwards

3.0

So until I got to the end of this book it was going to get a 4.5 star review essentially. MAYBE rounded up to just a solid 5 depending on how it pulled out. I thought at the least I'd give it a 4. I mulled it over and I guess I'm kind of annoyed.

The book was pretty well written. There was some snarkiness at some products placed in the book by well known people which I feel like would normally get someone in trouble, but who knows.

Other than that, I LOVED the build up. I liked that the only way I knew it was a thriller was that I read the back of it. Going into it, you would think it was just some love story. Which is fine, I suppose. But then there were some weird things the author did that irked me. Like bringing in characters that I had forgotten about because they were only briefly introduced way earlier.

Part of that might be because it was a slight of hand trick and Rachel being the culprit at the end was weird.

MORE than anything I'm upset that the author acted like just because Charlie was not a psycho ass murderer that she was all of a sudden someone you could be in a normal functioning relationship with. Sure, those other guys cheated on her, and I feel bad for her. That explains her jealousy. IT DOES NOT EXPLAIN SOMEONE CUTTING THEMSELVES. Staying with her was only going to make her feel more justified in her crazy ass behavior.

There was so much potential!!!
