Where to start? Okay so. The premise of the book is that the ML (who is a complete stranger at this point) is passed out muttering words in Swedish at a bar that she’s at. She unprovoked goes and helps out this stranger for absolutely no reason, and it just read so unrealistic and ridiculous. Especially because she constantly mentions how big he is and how dangerous it could be for her to be alone with a strange ‘drunk’ man. As a woman, why are you volunteering to take home a 6ft 5 huge man who is a)drunk b)a stranger c)A MAN. There’s actually no valid reason other than being on a suicide mission.
There was definitely a way to work around this issue whilst still keeping the premise the same. For example, the author could’ve made the FL Swedish-American, that way it would at least somewhat justify why she helps him - because she could assume he doesn’t speak English and no one else will be able to communicate with him. Or better yet, she could’ve been a nurse or a doctor who is asked by the cops (that the bartender calls to escort him out), to check that’s he’s alright. Or even better, A SWEDISH-SPEAKING NURSE. But alas, she is neither Swedish nor a medical professional. She is simply, stupid. And horny (pls see next paragraph).
And get this ladies and girlypops, she not only approaches this man, but she also forces her friend to help her put him in her car (he’s still knocked out), SO SHE CAN TAKE HIM TO HER HOUSE TO SLEEP IN HER DEAD PARENTS BEDROOM, IN THE SAME HOUSE WHERE HER 4 UNDERAGE SIBLINGS LIVE (3 OF WHICH ARE GIRLS) OF WHOM SHE IS THE LEGAL GUARDIAN OF????? No seriously she deserves to be locked up for that. Her friend is even like to her "you’re not seriously going to take this stranger to a house where your siblings are? He could murder or rape them?" And she’s just like "lol dc still taking him bc I can’t stop thinking that he has a big d*ck" (no seriously she doesn’t stop talking about his thingamajigy which she accidentally saw. Get this, in just the first 2 chapters, she says d*ck 14 times. FOURTEEN TIMES, in the FIRST TWO CHAPTERS and there were no sec scenes, it was literally just her talking about d*ck?). Anyway, I’m never one for realism in books, but this surpassed unrealistic and skydived right into absolutely ridiculous and utterly idiotic. And I completely agree with the rest of the 1-star review girly’s that she didn’t care about her siblings at all. Even when she’s driving the passed out man to her house, she acknowledges that she shouldn’t be doing it because of her siblings being there, but she‘s going to regardless because she just "has a feeling about him". I cant express the irritation I feel just writing that.
When he wakes up the next morning, she then offers to drive him to his hotel. Her brother rightfully protests and she gets mad at him saying verbatim "He’s always been protective, but this is on another level."
SORRY? SOWRRY *in a Canadian accent*??????? Oh I’m sorry your brother doesn’t want you in a car alone with an unknown 6ft 5, built man????? She’s actually such a freak, I can’t stand her.
Anyway, later that day she finds out he’s a prince (but he doesn’t know she knows) she asks to take a selfie with him on their first date (?) so she can prove to her friend that he’s the prince
