The Shadow of the Wind
by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

there was so much tragedy in their lives that even though there was a happy ending, it was difficult to recover.
so many plot twists. the brother-sister thing worst of all. even so, i still could not understand how aldaya just let his daughter die like that.
anyway i blame all the men aside from fermín (best boi) and daniel's dad. was it honestly that hard for daniel and julian to get the girls' dad's permission to court their daughters? why so cloak and dagger? and getting the girls pregnant... it feels so irresponsible.
