Whooooooaaaaaaaa!
Yes, it's a bonkers book, but it all makes sense in the end. What I loved the book is the fact that it does all come together so brilliantly in the end, but the conclusion doesn't at all temper how bonkers it truly is. That's not easy to pull off in a horror novel -- to stick the landing as well as Awad does here. (Just ask young Stephen King about this.)
And of course Mona Awad is a TREMENDOUS writer on a craft level. Her descriptions sparkle, her sentences shine. I loved reading her on a line by line basis.
Not often you get to read something truly original, but this is. I loved it.
