  • third act breakup
  • He falls first and hard
  • Prank wars
  • Small town
  • Marriage of convenience
  • Rivals to lovers

This was the first book I’ve read from K.E. Montheith and although it is apart of a series I don’t think you need to read the others to follow the plot. There is a “cheat sheet” at the beginning that helps clarify on things you should know prior to being introduced to the characters of this book. It was a cute quick read

There is a marriage of convenience between the rivals of the town who are notorious for pranking each other since Ashley moved in 3 years ago and while they may pretend hate each other the community has a betting board on when the two finally get together.

The third act conflict could have been resolved without the town holding pitchforks towards Ashley (sidenote: Ms.Taylor needs to be ousted who voted her to be town crier and why is everyone just closing their shops because she said so. Her behavior towards Ashley was always horrid I felt bad for her. Sorry rant over) if she would have considered Mason’s cool down period they wouldn’t have had to be so distant.
