Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam

The best word I have to describe this book is "wacky". I actually really loved most of the writing and the general plot / premise, but there were moments and phrases that really strayed in to weird and wacky territory. I think that the premise of this book mirrors so well what we went through in covid. The uncertainty, the fear, and all that comes with that, felt very true. I also appreciated the commentary on racism and climate change. This book is extremely modern and I think that still comes with some growing pains, but mostly I really liked this novel.
