The Secret Princess by Melanie Cellier

4.0

I really enjoyed going back into the world of the Four Kingdoms.  These books are just such comfort reads for me when I'm mentally having a tough time - a fantasy but not too heavy of a fantasy that my brain can handle and a comfortable predictablity.

I really liked Giselle as a main character and her growth and Arvin was good comic relief.  I do feel the romance was a little underdeveloped.

It took me a bit longer to get into this book, but only because it's been 2 years since I binge read 'The Four Kingdoms' and 'Beyond the Four Kingdoms' series, I was busy trying to place characters that had their previous stories already told, once we really got into Giselle's adventure it was a breeze, and if you have never read the other series or have read them more recently me than me (or just have a better memory) this probably wouldn't be a problem for you.
