You may have noticed that I changed the ratings of all the other short stories to 3 stars; while I enjoyed them all, I didn't think it was fair because they are short stories in comparison to long novels.
This tale killed me. Quite a long short story, the content is amazing, and the last few chapters feature some of the best writing overall in this series. My heart breaks for Illium, forever one of my favourites. Jessamy and Galen's first meeting is an intense thing, as they both struggle with inner demons and their unspoken desire for each other. Although it takes time, they learn to trust one another, and that it is okay to be heartbroken sometimes.
