Under the Dome by Stephen King
4.0
Stephen King books seem to be hit or miss these days, but for me this one was a hit. This is a story of a dome that came down over a small town in Maine cutting off the townspeople from the rest of the world. There are innocent people trapped inside the dome as well as some very interesting charecters. There is Jim Rennie, the town selectman that is hellbent on pushing his religious views as well as gaining control of the town. Junior Rennie is Jim's son and he has a brain tumor and has developed murderous tendencies. Barbie is a short order cook and a war vet who just wanted to get out of town but soon becomes a scapegoat. Chef is a meth manufacturer and drug addict who after many months holed up making drugs has become completely off of his rocker. At almost 1100 pages this book was a monster, but it was a pretty fast paced read. I would recommend it for any fans of Kings older works, such as the Stand.
