I'm not normally drawn to contemporary romances. Usually, if I'm going to read a romance I want waltzes at balls, dukes and dowagers, carriage rides through the park, and London. But this particular contemporary romance was written by Lisa Kleypas, who is my favorite historical romance writer. She's just one of my favorite writers period. So I should have known I would enjoy this book, despite it being set in modern day Texas. I'm definitely going to read the rest of the series.
