The Stranger
by Harlan Coben
16. This is my first read for the author of this suspense filled novel and I found myself totally immersed in the story from the beginning. The protagonist Adam goes against everything we think about missing persons which is what we are taught-report it to the authorities...but being a lawyer he doesn't trust the police and takes matters into his own hands when his wife goes missing. As the story unfolds Adam's emotions run the gambit questioning his marriage, his family and nothing makes sense to him and the more he tries to rationalize the situation the more complicated the story becomes. The author builds a good story and as more characters come into play we find Adam involved in more than just a simple missing person scenario. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, thought the characters were well written and the book had a great storyline. Highly recommend. As this is currently being filmed as a Netflix production I look forward to the visual. The synopsis is spot on.
