A Man's Promise by Brenda Jackson

3.0

Caden Granger has always loved Shiloh Timmons. Well, he did until her father showed him "proof" that Shiloh no longer loved him. Then he gave up on her completely. His head did anyway. So when her mother shows up telling him that he was in the wrong, Caden is all-in in trying to win Shiloh back. Even after four years.
Shiloh didn't exactly desert Caden as he thought. In fact, the truth is even worse. The two will have to work with each other both to solve their own issues as well as to work on the overarching mystery of who killed Caden's mother (it's probably not his father who is serving time in jail.)
Why not a higher star value? Not enough groveling. No, seriously. Caden f'ed up big time and barely even says "I'm sorry."
