A Modest Proposal
by Jonathan Swift
Rating 1.5/5
While I can appreciate Swift as a master of satire, I think it's the subject matter of this that puts me off, especially the few descriptions of methods of preparation peppered through the short essay.
Points for its structure and Swift's daring criticism of everyone and everything - neither English nor Irish is safe from him here, but this just left me feeling a little sick.
