hlouie 's review for:
Return of the Thief
by Megan Whalen Turner
By the time you get to last book, it's hard to give an objective review since I've been so invested in this series. None the less, I will try.
I really did enjoy Return of the Thief. It has a good pace and told through the eyes of a new character named Pheris. There were some things Pheris gets to see that I don't think he would actually get to see, but I was OK with it for the mere sake of telling the story consistently and fluidly. I still loved all the characters. I would say there didn't feel like the notable Megan Whalen Turner "plot twist" that is in the other 5 books; yet, she leaves enough mystery and vague prophecies in there to keep you on your toes and guessing as you go. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and was happy with the ending.
The Queen's Thief series is like part greek mythology and part King Arthur (because of all the kings and queens involved) with always a huge twist at the end. I would recommend the whole series to anyone.
