First off, I’m not a dark romance fan. So part of my dislike for this book is my fault because I didn’t look into whether this book was dark romance or not. This is book 3 in a 4 book series and the other 3 are contemporary romance so I NEVER expected this to be dark romance. I was about half way through before I realized it and ended up pushing through to the end. The basis of the story line had potential, but most of this book was spent beating the possessiveness that Noah has over Tinsley into the readers head, which was already obvious from page 1. I do love the intensity of the love Tinsley and Noah have for each other and the background of their relationship growing since they were kids.
Also, calling this a sports romance is a stretch since boxing is the only sport that is BRIEFLY mentioned a few times. I was thrilled to read a book about a bad ass female boxer and this book was not that!
On a high point the narrators of the audiobook, Lucy Rivers and Aiden Snow, are FANTASTIC and perfect for these characters!
If this book was just the first half of the book, epilogue, and extended epilogue the rating would’ve been 3.5 stars.
