Just Listen

You know what? I really, really, really enjoyed this book. This is the kind of YA fiction I've been waiting a whole lifetime to read. After poring through other novels with textbook fairytale-style narratives and stereotypical quirky leads, it was amazing to find a story like this one. Annabel, a protagonist taking the time to work through her own struggles and navigate her relationships in a more realistic way is what really made this book, aided by Owen, a flawed but ultimately enjoyable character that I couldn't help but root for. There was something so touching about the concept of honesty and finding comfort in a difference of opinion throughout the book that allowed the dynamic between Annabel and Owen to develop, and it was written so well. Anyway, more YA fiction like this, please.
