For how much I hated Ava in The Princess Companion, I grew to adore her! She hid so much from herself and others. She had to for fear of what her father and brother would do. She had no love besides her mother and grandmother. She was so lonely. I love how she learned from her mistakes and grew from an arrogant Princess to an approachable, kind, and wise Princess. I wasn't sure about Hans in the first book either, but he loved Ava and wasnt cruel. He was against what the king and prince were up to, but he saw something in her that gave him hope. Everything about this book down to the smallest details had an importance. I love the showdown with Ava and Konrad. It made me admire her and love her more. There were so many great aspects and well done development that the next books have a lot to live up to. These first two books are huge wins!!
