 I liked the first one, but I thought this one was even better! My only note is that the use of the Language is getting kind of ridiculous. Irene keeps talking about how its effect doesn't last long, and the narrative shows it draining her energy and causing nosebleeds (never a good thing in fiction) when she uses it, but it still works perfectly and exactly how she wants it to and for exactly long enough every time. Even in high chaos environments, when I thought the first book established that it gets wonky or doesn't even work at all when around high chaos? Maybe I misunderstood.

But that's really a small criticism. I enjoyed this book a lot.
