It was a gift. From a Fox News devourer. And I truly appreciated the gift.

Back in HS, I would read stories of the Wild West, of many of these characters. So a "fair and balanced" re-telling was intriguing. Unfortunately there was nothing new. My HS folklore class (hey, who didn't look for a punt class every now and then) taught it better. Footnotes and annotations were sparse. Anecdotal references to newspaper stories and editorials went un-quoted.

All in all a fine read, but do not put in to historical categories of a ,say, McCullough telling of the Brooklyn Bridge nor a Larsen telling of a mass murderer during Chicago's worlds fair.

Some new stories of some new characters, but why a re-do of the old Times publishing tales of the Wild West?
