Audiobook review disclaimer:
I process sound less clearly than text (trauma brain things), so my audiobook reviews tend to be shorter and more surface-level than my usual ones. I don’t take notes while listening, and I often come away with impressions rather than detailed analysis. Still, I’m committed to reviewing every single book I read, even when the format changes how I engage. This is my way of honoring the listening experience—with softness, presence, and care. Thanks for reading!

Review:
There wasn't nearly enough AI in this. There's the initial car accident, and then a bunch of rich (presumedly) white people doing stupid shit, and then a little bit more AI at the end. It felt like this book was trying to be literary sci-fi and only succeeded at the literary part. The grown man narrator observing the bodies of his teenage son and his son's teenage girlfriend landed weird. Also, the narrator's need to be the hero and being upset every time he failed was too toxic masculinity for me. Lastly, why did the wife have OCD??? Yall can easily give this one a pass.
Graphic: Death, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Drug use, Alcohol
