I love a time loop romance, but this one didn’t work for me. It had an original premise with Gemma unaware of the time loop and only Jack living through it for 147 days so far. While starting the reader on the final day of the time loop with Gemma rather than with Jack prevented a lot of repetition, which can be a problem with time loop stories, but it also deprived the reader of the process of falling in love on one side and that was a detrimental obstacle to my enjoyment. With Jack at the end of the time loop already in love and Gemma only one eventful day to get there too, it reached too far for me to enjoy the romance. It was like a time loop romance sans romance and sans the time loop, which were the very things that made me pick up the book.
