All That's Left in the World
by Erik J. Brown
I loved this book and read it almost in one sitting. Charming, hopeful, slow burning, exciting… it was such a refreshing book that neither shied away from horrors of a post-apocalyptic world nor exaggerated them. The boys are so sweet and caring in a world full of people who don’t trust. The secondary characters are likable or despicable as needed. My heart went out to the characters were supposed to love and the ones who were dislikable gave me the creeps. The author nods to the typical dystopian world so many of these sorts of books take place in while ultimately asks us to believe that people can still be good and there is still hope even after society is killed. It’s just a nice balance of the good, bad, and grey of people.
