Heat and Run: A Steamy F/F/F Omegaverse Novella by Adriana Herrera
3.0
I took her in my arms. She came to me like I was the only home she’d ever known.
I've said time and time again that I don't particularly like omegaverse, and that remains true, but apparently I'll let Adriana Herrerra take me by the hand and carry me wherever she wants, lol. This is an f/f/f paranormal romance, pretty much wall to wall smut, about an omega who crash lands in an alpha's backyard while in heat, and then her beta fwb comes to visit, and they all have a pleasant, wholesome time together. :) Truly no thoughts, head empty. There's some worldbuilding, and it's tangentially connected with Herrerra's other smutty holiday novellas, but even if you haven't read them, you'll catch the gist of the overall world easily enough. (I've only read the first sapphic one.) This was mostly pretty hot, but also... look, there are certain things about a/b/o that I find so incredibly silly, and this introduced some new, even sillier things for me, and my eyebrows were constantly at my hairline. And it's really just a matter of taste. There are some things I think are hot, and there are some things I think are really not. There are some descriptions that I find really sexy, and some that are ridiculous bordering on downright silly. This had examples of both, in spades. Also, speaking of silly...
Spoiler
one of my biggest pet peeves is food related descriptions for the smell and taste of genitalia. Cinnamon?? Plums?? Honey?? Nectar??? Nooooooo pussy should just taste like pussy, my dude!!But I mean, I'm not mad that I read it. There were some funny moments, especially when the brothers got put in their place. I really liked Dhany. Big possessive woman make brain go brrrr. There was an almost total lack of plot, but I did like that Melina and Kam bonded almost immediately and there was no drama about the triad. They're really cute. And when it was hot, it was hot. So, kudos!
